“ A stunning new gem in Carroll Gardens! Tera Mera just opened a few days ago, and it’s already something truly special. The restaurant was started by two amazing women, and you can feel the love, care, and cultural depth in every detail—from the antique Indian dishes to the vibrant wallpaper and gorgeous backyard patio (which is a lush little dreamworld perfect for summer nights). The food is extraordinary. Every dish is made with clear intention and a deep understanding of Indian flavors. I had the spicy vegan cheese toast (a must-try!), the cauliflower salad (bright, bold, and perfectly balanced), and an incredible dark roast coffee that was smooth and strong. I’m vegan and was thrilled to find so many vegan options! The menu is thoughtful and unique—not your standard Indian fare—and everything is presented like a work of art. The space is intimate but not cramped, with a cozy, inviting vibe. Staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about what they’re creating here. Highly recommend getting in now before it blows up—this is the kind of spot that’s going to be packed once the secret’s out. A soulful, flavor-filled experience from start to finish. ”

“ Amazing food! And beautiful, beautiful ambiance with a cute little mini store on the side with great Indian food finds. Staff was also friendly. Vada pav - Great flavors, huge patty and appreciated it wasn’t super deep fried. Bread was soft and fluffy Chili cheese toast - can never go wrong with this, buttery and fluffy Bombay toastie - star of the show, a must try! Fantastic flavors ”

“ This is a great new place with interesting and good food. Service probably can improve. The Vada Pav was the best of what we tried, really good and haven’t had something like this before. The Pani Puri seems to be their main spiel and pretty fun to try - not sure I’d order it again. Dumplings were good but not special. The service was kind of slow when we went, I guess just startup pains. Lovely people but they forgot to bring one item. Next to us were apparently two influencers who got the special treatment, got special selections, new dishes to try etc, they kept going to them and kind of ignoring us. I know that is how modern day restaurants in nyc work but still stinks since I am both paying and a (potential) repeat customer….. ”

“ 6/5 stars for vibes. 4/5 stars for food. They have a lovely backyard area where they hosted a Diwali fair-type thing. So lovely. The decor is sooo vibey and homey. Also a good spot to find snacks / house warming gifts (upscale Indian snacks) ”

“ Loved our lunch at Tera Mera! Portions, flavors, and dishes were all great. Sat in the backyard on an unusually hot day, but it was shady and breezy. The owner was super friendly, and spent time chatting with us. This is the exact sort of casual Indian cafe that I am so excited is in the neighborhood in the midst of NYC's Indian food renaissance! Lots of fun groceries in the shop also. ”

“ Both an excellent Indian goods shop and restaurant. We ordered the Butter Chicken Bowl and the Roti Omelette and enjoyed both and didn’t leave anything left on our plates. There’s enough room to bring a stroller in as well, but that might just be during quieter times of day. ”

“ I discovered this cafe on a Sunday late afternoon. The café is cozy but still has a welcoming vibe — the staff are super friendly and easy to chat with. I enjoyed the Raw veggies salad and Pork Vindaloo Sandwitch. ”

“ I walked by and was attracted to the design and storefront. Came by a few weeks later, the staff and owner were super welcoming and you cant tell from the front but there’s a large beautiful backyard. I got the hibiscus tea (really tasty and refreshing and helps with the spiciness), pani puri (delicious and fun) and veggie momos which you could tell are fully homemade. Excited to come back and try other things including perhaps the yard. ”
